“Autumn Queen” floral wreath of vine wire, synthetic flowers, synthetic berries, hot glue, and synthetic leaves.
Floral Crowns & Wreaths
I began making floral crowns in the summer of 2012, as a way to circumvent wearing the required hats while working at a renaissance faire. Over time, my pieces have become larger and more elaborate, incorporating a wider variety of materials.
Each crown begins on a base of vine wire, which I braid with either two or three stands to create the desired shape. Next come synthetic leaves, flowers, berries and twigs, which I attach with a combination of wire and hot glue. Each piece is one-of-a-kind.
